Jane Eyre Giveaway Winners!

Congratulations, you two! Both of them listed the Masterpiece Theater 2006 version of Jane Eyre (starring Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens) as their favorite film adaptation thus far. And that did seem to be the overall consensus as I read through all your comments. Although there were plenty of Timothy Dalton fans and lovers of the George C. Scott/Susanna York version as well. As for me, my current favorite is the 1996 Zeffirelli film. I'm still waiting for this newest version to show somewhere remotely near me, but have any of you had a chance to get out and see it yet?     The movie's website has a list of all the theaters and states here:

    http://www.focusfeatures.com/jane_eyre/theatres

    It seems it only opened in select theaters at first. Frustrating! Not only that, but if you live in a somewhat obscure state (like me) it seems it's only going to show up in an equally obscure theater somewhere deep in the capital. Again, frustrating

    I meant to enter this contest. Oops. Jane Eyre doesn't come out here until April 3rd. My book club is planning an outing, but we weren't thrilled about having to wait that long.

Interview with Diana Peterfreund + Rampant Giveaway!

Ever since I fell in love with Diana Peterfreund 's Secret Society Girl series last year, I've been hoping I'd get the chance to interview her here. Interview with April Lindner + Jane Giveaway!

I'm very excited about today's interviewee. As you know, I had been looking forward to the publication of Jane for months when a review copy happened in my lap and I let out a gasp of joy. Being a modernized retelling of Jane Eyre with a rock star-ized Mr. Rochester named Nico and a cover that hits every last one of my aesthetic buttons, it was sort of made to order for this reader.
