28 Days of Winter Escapes

I'm excited to report that today kicks off Harper Teen's 28 Days of Winter Escapes book-a-day giveaway event!

28 Fabulous Books. 28 Fabulous Authors. 28 Fabulous Blogs.

Each day a new book will be featured and up for giveaway on the official site along with a corresponding poll. Answer the poll and be entered to win an autographed copy of the book! Once a week a larger prize will be up for grabs as well, including an iPod Touch. Each day the author of that book will also be found on one of the participating blogs talking about their book. I'm stoked to be taking part in this super fun event. On February 20th, I'll be hosting author Rachel Hawthorne here on the blog as she talks about her upcoming book Shadow of the Moon--the fourth in the Dark Guardian series, which is due out March 23rd. In the meantime, be sure to check out each of the giveaways starting today!

    Oooh...that sounds exciting. Chance of winning free books is always an attention getter. Is it a particular genre in teen fiction or just random books published by Harper?

    Lan, it looks like they run the gamut as far as YA is concerned. There are contemporaries, fantasy, urban fantasy, and one historical. Just all Harper Teen titles. Lots of good stuff, it looks like.

Linger by Maggie Stiefvater, Review + Giveaway!

It seems a long time ago now that I first read Shiver -- the first book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy. But looking back I started it on the plane ride to BEA and finished it there in the conference center, fingers gripping the cover tightly, while sitting on the floor in one of the many autograph lines. Interview with Sarah Rees Brennan + Giveaway!

You are all quite familiar by now with my obsession with The Demon's Lexicon trilogy (you can read my reviews of the first two books  here  and  here ).  I discovered book one at the end of last year and went absolutely wild with delight over the darkly twisting combination of work-their-way-under-your-skin characters and the sinister magical underbelly of the world they live in.
