Triple Prize Pack Giveaway!

Not long ago I discovered a few of you tweeting to get me to the 300 follower mark. As little things I read on Twitter often do, that one sort of made my day. You're all really too sweet for words and I joked that perhaps it was time for a giveaway. The truth is I've been in the mood to have one for awhile now and this is as good a time as any. So here's the deal. This will be a triple prize pack giveaway, meaning there are three packs and you can indicate which one you'd like to be entered to win in the comments. I will choose three random winners and contact them. This giveaway is open to anywhere The Book Depository ships! Here's the list of countries, FYI. Since I tend to read a lot of urban fantasy, straight fantasy, and young adult, I've chosen a set of each including all books currently in print in that series.
The Urban Fantasy Pack
The Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews
(My reviews here, here, & here)
 The Fantasy Pack
The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner
(my reviews here, here, & here)
The YA Pack
The President's Daughter series by Ellen Emerson White
(Liz of Tea Cozy's review of the series, my review of the last one here)

To enter simply leave me a comment telling me which pack you'd like to win and why. The giveaway will be open for a week and will close at midnight on Thursday, March 11th. I'll announce the winner the next day. Please make sure to leave me a way to contact you.

Edited--This contest is now closed.

  1. Please, please, please enter me in the Fantasy drawing. I read The Thief on your recommendation, loved it, and made everyone I know read it. I have had the hardest time finding the sequels in the bookstore. SO EXCITING!

  2. Wow! I'd be interested in the urban fantasy pack. I've seen a lot of great reviews for this series and have been meaning to try it! Thanks for offering the chance to win it!

  3. I'd love to be entered for the YA pack. And the Urban Fantasy pack (if I can choose two). I'd choose the fantasy one too, if I didn't already own those books :) Thanks!

  4. Ummm... yeah, so I think you know which one I'm wanting... in fact... I came "this close" to ordering it today! Maybe I'll wait just one more week. I am so ready to read The Thief and it's sequels! :)

Hi! I've been following your blog for a while - I love it - and this is my first comment.
I don't believe the books you chose! I love ALL of them! Unfortunately, I own them, too, but... more chances for everyone else.
And I know you've read an ARC of A Conspiracy of Kings (lucky you...) but I'm counting down the days to its official release... Three and a half weeks...
Also, I saw some internet rumors that EEW is working on a fifth Meg Powers book. Did you hear anything about that??

  7. please sign me up for the urban fantasy pack! the series has gotten some great reviews and I'd love to try it out =)
thanks so much for giving away the whole sets!

  8. Aww Angie your so awesome lovely choices for prize packs. If I should win I would want the Megan Whalen Turner one oh duh The Fantasy One because I need the last two still.

  9. i'd love to win the fantasy pack. i've been wanting to reading this series for awhile now and just haven't gotten the opportunity to do so. btw - did you ever see sarah rees brennan's breakdown of this series? hilarious. made me want to read it even more. :)

I would love to enter for the YA pack : it's a series I've been wanting to read for a while, I love the covers, and also, I already own 5 of the 6 books in the other two packs :P

And congrats for reaching 300 followers! :D

    infiniteshelf at gmail dot com

  15. I have fallen in love with all three of these series; as I'm sure you know. However, if I were to pick one that I would read over and over again it would be the YA pack (or the Urban pack oh choices!).

you are awesome. Thanks for getting me addicted on great books. I'll be swinging by shortly for a new installment. :o)

  17. Please enter me for the Fantasy Pack.
I'd love to have my own copy of these.
And to finally get to read book 3.

Congrats on the 300++ followers :)

I would love to get the Urban Fantasy Pack. I've already read the series( love Curran and the scooby doo vampire!), but I would like to introduce this awesome series to some of my friends. It's so hard to get a hold of in the libraries

  19. I would love the YA pack because thats my fav genre :)

  20. I would love to win the urban fantasy pack; I've seen good reviews of the series elsewhere but as of yet I haven't had a chance to pick them up.

    stephaniefleischer889 @

  21. Urban fantasy pack! Because... because Curran is HOT and I can't get enough of him!

  22. The Fantasy Pack! I had never heard of this series until I saw your review for the latest book. Your enthusiasm was contagious! I immediately started looking on GoodReads (my go-to for more info) and the blurbs as well as the other reader's passionate reviews convinced me this is a series I HAVE to try. I have a great feeling about it!

    isabelle.m.santiago at gmail dot com

  24. I'd love to win the Urban Fantasy pack. I've had the Kate Daniels series recommend to me many times but I haven't read it yet.

  25. I'd love to be entered for the YA Pack. I've read so many raves about these books and I haven't read them.

  26. Hmmm, all three packs are good. I think I'll go with the Urban Fantasy Pack because I've been seeing these books around for awhile now and really want to read them. Of course the YA pack has been on my list as well, if I win which one do you think I would like more? (I've alread read and loved the Fantasy pack...)

Also, I've been a loyal follower for a very long time, so although its supposed to be a random drawing I just thought I'd put that out there. =)

humorous dark urban fantasy? Please count me in for the Urban Fantasy Pack! It's been a while since I've read some good urban fantasy and these look killer good!

  28. Angie! Congrats on getting past 300 - that's quite a feat, although not really surprising :).

Tell you what girlie, I think I could have named which three series you were gonna pick even before I saw this post...let's just say it made me smile big time.

And since I finally went out and bought my very own Kate set, I'd love to be entered for the Pres. Daughters series. I would adore my very own set which I could repeatedly drool over and even occasionally loan out - okay, more than occasionally. Thanks!

  29. I would love to be entered in for the Urban Fantasy pack. I already own the Fantasy and YA series (love them!) plus, I've been hearing raves about the Kate Daniels series.

    Thanks for this giveaway! :D

  31. The YA Pack please @kikicomp have rt

  32. SQUEEEE Queen's Thief series! :) The person who'll get that is really lucky! That's one of my favorite series of all time.

Too bad Book Depository doesn't deliver to the Philippines so I can't join. :( I haven't read the books in the other two packs but they look real interesting.

  33. Awesome contest! I would love to win the Fantasy Pack. Thanks!

    Wow. I've been reading this blog for a while now and I feel kinda bad that this is my first time commenting...^^;

Anyways, I would LOVE to win the Urban Fantasy pack. I read the first book, which I obtained from my school library, and loved the plot and characters. Except my library never got the rest of the series. I would really like to continue and read the next two.

  35. Boy oh boy!!! The fantasy pack, no question--and why? because of you, you book pimping fiend!

    *crossing fingers*

  36. Fun giveaway! They are all awesome series but I would love to own The Urban Fantasy Pack. I think I borrowed them from you through Elisa. I keep thinking I need to buy them so I can read them again. I can't wait for the 4th one to come out.
Thanks again for the fun contest!

  37. So here's a story you might like. Earlier today, I gave my friend a bag of books to borrow over our spring break. We then got to talking about books, and she asked me if I'd read the Kate Daniels series yet. She asks me this every time. Every time, I was forced to say no. But today, she raved on for so long that I finally acquiesced, and now really really really want to win the Urban Fantasy pack!

    That's all. :)

    stephxsu at gmail dot com

  38. I would love to be entered for the Fantasy pack! I've always wanted to read the series, but have never picked them up.

  39. I'm interested in the Urban Fantasy Pack. I've heard of Ilona Andrews but haven't read any of her books, so this will give me the opportunity to discover a new author.

  40. I'm interested in the Urban Fantasy Pack. I've heard of Ilona Andrews but haven't read any of her books, so this will give me the opportunity to discover a new author.

  41. I would LOVE to enter to win the Fantasy Pack! I am dying to read this series, it sounds so good! Thanks!

  42. I would love to be entered to win the YA pack! My email is bangersis(at)msn(dot)com. And P.S. I love your name;)

  43. I'd love to play for the urban fantasy pack because the books sound like something I would totally love!

  44. Such a great giveaway Angie!

I'd love the fantasy pack because I've been meaning to get this series ever since Melina Marchetta said they featured her favourite book couple. If they are her favourites I think I'm pretty much going to adore them!

  45. I would love the urban fantasy or fantasy pack, both packs looks great. Thanks for the giveaway Angie!

    van p.

  46. I rarely enter these things, but I couldn't pass up the chance -- I would like to be entered for the YA Pack. I'm already of fan of Kate and Curran, and I have The Thief on my eReader.

I love how the covers of the President's Daughter series are based on famous paintings. :)

  47. I would love to win either the YA pack or the Fantasy Pack. I've been hearing great reviews about Ilona Andrews' books for ages, and reading your blog has basically sold me on reading Ellen Emerson White.

(It took me a while to realize I had read some of her books before; she wrote books for the Dear American and Royal Diaries series!)

  48. I would choose The Fantasy Pack for several reasons.
One reason is that I had been reading a lot of Urban fantasy recent I would to return to a more classic genre for a while.
Another reason is that Megan Whalen Turner is author many people have recommended but I have yet to try.

Lastly, and totally superficially, I love the cover art. Isn't it fantastic?

  49. I'd like to be entered for the YA pack please. I've been interested in the series since I read blog reviews for them. They seem to be pretty much totally unavailable down here in New Zealand, so I'd love to win them. (The fantasy ones are tempting too, but I can get them here so I'll sign up for the EEW ones.)

  50. Amarah2:51 AM

I'd love to win the Fantasy Pack. I've been in a reading slump for almost a year now, partly because of a hectic schedule and partly because I'm getting frustrated with almost every new fantasy book I pick up. That's when I turn to MWT's books for comfort, a reminder of how it feels to fall in love with a REALLY GOOD BOOK.

    Thanks for this giveaway! :)

  51. I'm vying for the Fantasy pack! I've heard nothing but great things about The Thief and it's successors. A friend of mine read them last year and said they were brilliant. So I'd love a chance to win them!

    Thanks for the opportunity!

    - Nikki

  52. First of all, great choice of books! I am facing such a dilemma because all the packs you are offering are superb! But guess I can choose only one(:() that will be the YA pack! The reviews I have read about the President's Daughter series seriously intrigues me and has piqued my interest. So I would love to be entered for that pack.

How! thanks for made it international! I pick Fantasy Pack cause I love the thief! And I love the covers!

I have to decide? Okay, okay I'll go with the Urban Fantasy Pack then! ;)

  66. I would love to win the Fantasy The Queen's Thief pack! What a great giveaway.

Page (One Book At A Time)

  67. I would love to win the YA pack because I adore the way the illustrator/designer has appropriated the work of Wyeth, Whistler, Da Vinci and Vermeer in a beautifully contemporary way. Oh and I'd like to read them too!

  68. Please enter me in the UF giveaway. I love the genre and this is one series I haven't gotten to yet, but the premise is quite different from any that I have read (and that's a lot). Thanks!

    jessica @

  69. Oh, it's so hard to decide! I already own the Kate Daniels series, so THE THIEF or THE PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER? I think I have to go with the YA pack.

Excellent giveaway, by the way. :)

    roxane.elder (at) gmail (dot) com

  77. OK, after some debate I'm going to ask to be entered in the YA pack. Here's why: I'm an art historian and I'm slightly intrigued/ weirded-out by the Andrew Wyeth, Vermeer, Whistler, and Leonardo covers.

    Hope I win!

    I'm a gmailer: jolee.stephens

  78. I would love to be entered in the YA pack because I already own (and LOVE) the fantasy pack, and after reading the reviews am more interested in the YA. :)

  79. What a great giveaway! I'd love to be entered for the Fantasy Pack. My big sister loves these books, and so does everyone who reads them apparently, but sadly she moved away before I had a chance to read them. :P

Fun! I would like to win the Fantasy Pack. I haven't read this series yet.

  83. The Urban Fantasy pack, definitely. Not because the other 2 aren't good, but because I just can't get enough good urban fantasy. I mean, after all, werewolves, vampires (and I mean the ugly kind), &, from what I've heard, spot-on world building, please, please sign me up! : )

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  85. Anonymous12:04 PM

Would love to win the YA series. I already own the others (love them both) but have been intrigued by your reviews of Ms. White. In fact, I just checked out "The Road Home" from the library based on your rec.

  86. I'd love to win the YA Pack because err..frankly I already own the other two! Hehe. But the Queen's Thief is my favorite series of all time<3 And I've heard you wax poetic about Ellen Emerson White so I am quite excited to read some of her works! =)

    amychaang AT

  87. I want the fantasy pack. Because I don't read too much fantasy, but one stake conference lunch with you and Holly has made me want to change my ways. Or at least add YA fantasy to my every-expanding book list. Pick me. Pick me!

  88. I would love, love, love the fantasy pack. The Queen's Thief series has been one of my favorites for seven years - I started reading it in fifth grade and have loved it since :)

  89. Please count me in for the Fantasy Pack. I would give these books as a gift if I won - my own copies of Turner's brilliant books have been on constant loan to a long line of friends. I feel smug whenever I add another person to the Eugenides fandom. =)

  90. The Urban Fantasy pack! I just discovered Ilona Andrews about a week ago and I am DYING to own this series. Definitely one I'll be rereading like crazy!

    Thanks for the contest!

  91. I would like to win the Fantasy Pack. I've read the reviews and now I'm curious about them.

And congrats for getting to 300, as of today almost 350 :-)

  97. (that was me above by the way)

  98. The Urban Fantasy pack pretty please! I love that series, but I haven't bought any of the books yet, I am def getting Magic Bleeds. The best thing about the books is Kate's sparring with Curran. Rawr~

Review | To Sir Phillip, With Love by Julia Quinn

The first book to make it onto my best books I've read so far this year list was actually a surprise. Thanks to Bridgerton's massive success, Julia Quinn's name is everywhere these days. And I'm chuffed about the whole thing. That said, my Quinn reading up to this point has been sporadic at best. And I'd only read two novels in the actual Bridgerton series. So I decided to rectify that at the beginning of the year by starting with Eloise's story (the fifth in the series) because she is my uncontested favorite of the siblings. I had no idea what her story held, but I knew she would be a compelling lead. I also love the title and the role that letters play in the story.   Eloise Bridgerton is tired of everything. She is tired of the endless inane whirl of life among the ton. She is tired of being paraded around and forced to dance and converse with all the wrong men. But most of all she is tired of being suddenly and unexpectedly alone after her best friend Penelo

Interview with Diana Peterfreund + Rampant Giveaway!

Ever since I fell in love with Diana Peterfreund 's Secret Society Girl series last year, I've been hoping I'd get the chance to interview her here. Tomorrow marks the release of her new novel, Rampant , and let me tell you that you have not read a book like this before. You can read my review here , but all you really need to know is that it's a story about killer unicorns and the young women who hunt them. You want to read it now, don't you? Oh, yeah, and it's YA and the first in a series! To celebrate the release, Diana graciously answered a few of my most burning questions. As she is always a delight, I know you'll enjoy them as much as I did. First things first: When did the idea for Rampant first hit you and what (if anything) did you know right off the bat? In early 2005, just after selling Secret Society Girl , I had this dream of being chased by a very dangerous unicorn. I woke up and went to go look it up to see if I could figure out the meanin

Bibliocrack Review | You Should Be So Lucky by Cat Sebastian

If I'm being perfectly honest with myself, I've done a shamefully poor job of addressing my love for Cat Sebastian 's books around these parts. I've certainly noted each time her beautiful stories have appeared on my end-of-the-year best of lists, see:  The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes ,  basically every book in  The Cabots series , and of course  We Could Be So Good .  And the pull is, quite simply, this: nobody is as kind and gentle with their characters and with their hearts than Cat Sebastian. Nobody. I haven't always been one for the gentler stories, but I cannot overstate the absolute gift it is sinking into one of Sebastian's exquisitely crafted historicals knowing that I get to spend the next however many pages watching two idiots pine and deny that feelings exist and just  take care of each other  as they fall in love. I wouldn't trade that experience for the world. Not this one or any other.  Only two things in the world people count by months. H
