  1. You know, I really love Donia. Totally into the tragic characters too. It is kind of a toss-up if I like Donia or Niall more. Brooding and sad is usually more interesting to me. Thanks for the raving post about Marr's short stories - I've downloaded them now :)

  2. Niall, because...its Niall. Need I more reasoning?

  3. I'm not sure if I have a favorite or not. I have to agree with everyone, Niall and Donia are pretty fabulous to read about, but I am interested in seeing Seth's character develop. I wouldn't say he's my favorite character, but I see way more random chaos happening with him than any other characters and I love seeing that happen.

  4. Count me in, after your reviews, I'm thinking I'll go ahead and give this series another chance. And like you, I am in love with Niall. He's the Dark Lord and he owns it.

  5. I love Seth because of his devotion to Ash. He makes the ultimate sacrifice in becoming fey. Thanks for the contest. I'd love to win.

  6. Thanks for introducing me to this series. In the little bit that I've read, I think Ash is my favorite, but that could well be that most of what I've seen has been through her eyes. Thank you for the contest.

  7. I have liked Seth from the start. You gotta love a regular mortal man who stands up to the immortal Fae for his woman. However, Niall is my favorite. A former Dark Court darling who switched sides twice, is now the Dark King (and a freaking awesome one at that) and has a great, big bone to pick with Keenan? That is one complicated guy. Plus, he just gives me the warm fuzzies :) I hope he really gets to kick some Summer butt. Go Niall!

  8. My favorites are Seth and Leslie.

Seth because his character is growing and changing so much and he is so devoted. Its cool to watch how he changes and adapts to this new world.

Leslie, I have liked from the beginning and am looking forward to finding out what happens to her.

  9. Niall is my favorite b/c I just loved him in Ink Exchange! And while reading Wicked Lovely, I remember reading his advice to Keenan about Ash and not really looking past face-value at his comments. Then when I read Ink Exchange I really saw how deep his scars were and how he used that dark past to try and guide Keenan rather than do anything selfish, and he did the same for Leslie though that didn't end so well.
But how 'bout I'm actually shocked that I'm in consensus here?! I have run into people who like Irial, but not Niall! It's cool to see :D

Btw Seth is no slouch either, lol
    I like him a lot too :)

  14. My favorite characters are Leslie and Niall. Throughout all of the books (and now the short story), I think they've probably had the most believable character development based on their tragic, abusive pasts. I liked that this history allowed them to be vulnerable with each in Ink Exchange.

    Thanks for the contest!

  19. Just FYI I read the entire short story and the first 18 chapters last night.

I think my favorite character is a toss-up between Niall and Irial. sigh. I love them both.

  20. Ash is my favorite. She's strong, yet not afraid to ask for comfort or help when she needs it. I love the other characters too, but she's my favorite!

Irial, hands down. I love the fact that in so many ways, he's so incredibly human. And yet, he'll never be human, at least in terms of his behavior. I loved how in Stopping Time he was thinking about how there were only two people in the world he really cared about, and everyone else was just.. tools to keep them safe. That thought process really accentuated for me how far from human he really is. And yet, he shows these flashes of vulnerability and other emotions and for a moment, you forget. Anyhow, I could babble all day about all the fascets of his character that draw me in, but I'll stop now *g*cCourtney

On Angie, the Relative Scarcity Thereof

I've been a bit scarce round these parts of late and I feel badly about it. But there is a good reason and I've been waiting until today to share it with you. Just so I could include one rather pertinent detail. It's a boy! Fortunately I'm at the point where I'm starting to feel better, so things should soon start resembling business as usual around here. I, for one, am relieved.

Forever Blog Tour + Giveaway!

I'm awfully excited to be a part of this unique blog tour in celebration of the release of Forever by the insanely talented Maggie Stiefvater .  Scholastic recently launched an online community called  This Is Teen  to connect readers with their favorite YA authors and books. Visit their page on   Facebook   for all the latest news on   Maggie Stiefvater   and   Forever .  Each stop on the tour is hosting a particular character from the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, and I have the good luck to be the stop for Sam--my favorite emo-wolfboy!  Sam is so very endearing, in a decidedly non-angsty or overt way. His breathtaking blend of maturity and vulnerability tugs at my heartstrings and the strength of his relationship with Grace is unswerving.  He is warm and thoughtful and artistic, and I liked him right from the start of the series . Because I can't resist, here are two of my favorite Sam quotes, the first from Grace's point of view in  Shiver and the second from Sam&

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund

I know this is an almost unpardonably early review. But honestly, I waited on it as long as I possibly could before the effort of holding it in caused me some sort of bodily harm. I've been anxiously looking forward to For Darkness Shows the Stars  for going on two years now, and the day an ARC showed up on my doorstep was just a very good day indeed . When a book you've been dying to read finally falls into your lap, do you ever just hold onto it and savor the possibilities? I do. I did with this one for a little while. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I just tear into it immediately. But sometimes I don't. Because sometimes dreaming about it while you're actually holding it in your hands is special, too. So I savored and I dreamt and I started reading and . . . I was gone. My first reaction to finishing it was a sense of complete satisfaction mingled with sadness that it was over. My second was thinking that I cannot wait to see  For Darkness Shows the Stars  work
