Jane Eyre Movie Trailer


And in the spirit of the Jane giveaway we've got going on, here is the trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of Jane Eyre. It stars Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender and is set to release March 11th here in the U.S. I think it looks perfectly awesome and I'm so excited I can hardly wait. They've certainly adapted this story a number of times over the years and people tend to have definite opinions about their favorite version. Me, I get a little thrill with every one as it's just one of my favorite stories ever. So, who's going to go see it?

    So I was about to complain about how we don't need ANOTHER version, but that looks really, really good. :) The actress playing Jane seems excellent.

    My main problem with movie versions of JE are that they are too short. You really lose stuff when it's all condensed into a couple of hours.

    My favourite version is still the old BBC adaptation - a mini-series - from at least 25 years ago. Timothy Dalton as Rochester (*swoon*) and Zelah Clarke as Jane. To this day, I think she's the best Jane ever. God, I'm really showing my age here. I saw it when it was first on TV, I was about 10... Heh. ;)

    I can't wait for this! I saw the PBS/BBC version they did a few years ago and it was okay, but I think Fassbender is going to be a great Rochester. Okay, maybe he's a little too good-looking but I'm not complaining!

    I saw this trailer last night and was all, "Oooh, I'm in!" I love Jane Eyre so much as a story. And I do love Mia Wasikowska. She's a really talented actress. Not to mention my deep and abiding love of costume drama.

    I'm SO in!

    I'm not sure how I feel about the actor playing Mr. Rochester but Mia looks like she'll pull of Jane Eyre gracefully. She certainly has that direct stare that Mr. Rochester likes, lol.

    I watched the trailer earlier today and I think it looks very interesting. I'm definitely going to see it. You know I'm a big fan of the most recent Masterpiece Theatre version. I loved Toby Stephens as Rochester and thought Ruth Wilson was a perfect Jane.

    Oh my goodness!!! My sister and I always watch the BBC version (Jane Eyre is her favorite book) This one will be a definite sister date! It looks awesome :) can't wait

    This version looks like it's a bit more spooky than the others...it look's good, but I think the Masterpiece version is going to be hard to beat.

    Oh.Em.Gee. They are making a Jane Eyre movie?! I liked the old one with William Hurt but I practically squeed out loud when I saw this trailer.

    Not sure I liked the actress in ALICE IN WONDERLAND, but I think she could be a better Jane than Alice. Looking forward to it.

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund

I know this is an almost unpardonably early review. But honestly, I waited on it as long as I possibly could before the effort of holding it in caused me some sort of bodily harm. I've been anxiously looking forward to For Darkness Shows the Stars  for going on two years now, and the day an ARC showed up on my doorstep was just a very good day indeed . When a book you've been dying to read finally falls into your lap, do you ever just hold onto it and savor the possibilities? I do. I did with this one for a little while. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I just tear into it immediately. But sometimes I don't. Because sometimes dreaming about it while you're actually holding it in your hands is special, too. So I savored and I dreamt and I started reading and . . . I was gone. My first reaction to finishing it was a sense of complete satisfaction mingled with sadness that it was over.
