In honor of National Poetry Month, a favorite: 


He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven
by W.B. Yeats
HAD I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

    This is a great poem I like the thought of him giving hi9s dreams to the one he loves. That is worth much more than anything you can buy.

    I love this poem, but what I really need to say is holy cow, Sir Anthony is so young there! I really do need to watch that movie, because every time I hear the title, I think of you!

    I love Yeats! I featured him last year for National Poetry Month! My personal favorite is probably "When You Are Old"

    Wow. I'm usually very tuned in to National Poetry Month, but here it is at the end of April. I plum forgot! Thanks for the reminder. I love Yeats and this poem in particular.

Review | The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion, Vols. 1 & 2 by Beth Brower

I feel a bit giddy finally talking to you all about this series. If you'll remember, I fell madly in love with The Q  when it came out a few years ago. Now, Beth Brower is writing The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion — a series of novellas set in London in 1883. Each volume is an excerpt from the incorrigible Emma's journals, and the first two volumes are already available with the third on the way soon. I think they'd make rather perfect pandemic reading. Humorous and charming down to their bones, they're just what the doctor ordered to lift your spirits in this uncertain time that just proves to be too much some days.
