To help kick off Book Blogger Appreciation Week , and as part of the massive number of giveaways going on, I'm chipping in with my own. To one lucky commenter I'm giving away a brand new copy of Silent on the Moor by Deanna Raybourn . This book was one of my favorite reads so far this year and will undoubtedly be on my Best of 2009 list. It is the third installment in the Lady Julia Grey mystery series . Reading order: Silent in the Grave , Silent in the Sanctuary , and Silent on the Moor . Y ou can read my reviews of all three here , here , and here . This is a seriously enjoyable, well-written series and I am crazy fond of the intrepid Lady Julia and private inquiry agent Mr. Nicholas Brisbane. All you have to do is leave a comment and a way to contact you to be entered. For one extra entry you can become a follower. The contest is open to U.S. and Canada only and closes at midnight on Friday, September 18th. I'll be announcing the winner the next day. Thanks for stoppi
I can't believe Harry Potter's ending! I'm going Sunday, and I can't wait. :)

Oh, Hogwarts! ;_;
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the quote! I was feeling very sad about it all ending, and then I remembered that I can always go back to the books and enter the story again. The same is true for the movies to some extent, but these books will always live for me. They are very special, indeed!
ReplyDeleteHey, Meg! Thanks for following. :) I can't believe it, either...
ReplyDeleteHeidenkind, :)
Joanna, oh, so do I. Makes me tear up every time. I was kind of broken up after the movie. Thank heavens we have the books. They are the best.
Angie, I cried and cried and cried through most of the second half; I cried more in the movie than I did in the book! It was just so good! I think it's probably the best movie adaptation of the eight.
ReplyDeleteI still don't believe that's the final story of Harry. J.K. Rowling will gives us more of Harry sooner or later, at least that's the hope!
ReplyDeleteJoanna, oh dear. I know! I was a soppy mess. No surprise to anyone there, I'm sure...
ReplyDeleteJeff, interesting. I have always been pretty sure she'd never return. But you may very well be right. Never say never. And I'd be the first in line to read it! :)
It won't work in reality, that's exactly what I consider.
