Romeo & Juliet Trailer


It's trailerlicious around these parts. So another Romeo & Juliet adaptation, yes. But this one has Damian Lewis as Lord Capulet and Paul Giamatti as Friar Laurence, so I am very much going to be seeing it. Is it just me or is the actor who plays Romeo really sort of channeling Leonard Whiting from the Zeffirelli version? Not a bad thing, my friends. Not a bad thing at all. Due out October 13th, will you be seeing it?

    I hadn't heard about this, I'll definitely be seeing it! I really liked Romeo when he was Pip in Great Expectations.

    Ooooh I've had my eye on this trailer for about a month now. Hopefully the movie is as stunning as the trailer. I love seeing how all movie/play adaptions change the story in some little way, and am looking forward to see how Julian Fellows and the director interpreted the story. I'm also super excited for Hailee Steinfeld as Juliet. She looks gorgeous! Everyone I know hates Romeo and Juliet though, so I guess I'll be seeing it by myself. =(

      I don't know how I missed it until now. I've enjoyed Julian Fellowes' work so far, so I have high hopes. I know a lot of people scoff at R&J, but I have always loved it. Unabashedly. :)

      Speaking of book-movie-trailers, the first trailer for The Book Thief came out today (like literally a couple of hours ago). That film also looks amazing.

    I can't wait to see it! I too have always loved R&J - I own both the Zeffirelli version and the Luhrmann version on dvd. I especially like that they keep on using Zola Jesus's song "Skin" in the trailers for this one (IMHO, the first trailer they released is better than the one you put up).

    This is the first time I've seen this trailer and it looks good. I'll be willing to watch it if I remember by the time it comes out. LOL.

      It's funny when a new adaptation comes out and you see the trailer and realize, yeah, I am totally up for a new take on that story again. :)

    I was wondering why the actor playing Romeo looked so familiar! (I did see him in Great Expectations, but I kept feeling as if I knew him from something else, something much older.)

Retro Friday Review: Song of the Sparrow by Lisa Ann Sandell

Retro Friday is a weekly meme hosted here at Angieville and focuses on reviewing books from the past. River Marked Cover Art

I've seen this pop up hither and yon for awhile and been waiting for the official word to go up over at Hurog.com . It just did and I'm excited to post the cover of the sixth Mercy Thompson novel-- River Marked . We knew this one was going to delve a little deeper into Mercy's past, particularly the walker heritage and abilities she inherited from her father. And my little Mercy-loving heart does its little dance of joy at the thought. The cover reflects the Native American ancestry, for sure, and I'm noticing lots of feathers in her tattoos as well. Interesting. Personally I like that cover artist Dan Dos Santos subtly changes her tattoos with each cover to match the tones and themes of the individual books themselves. So what do you think?
