Wednesday Giggles: Sparklepire Version

It's that time of year again. We welcome the wonderful Cleolinda's Eclipse in 15 Minutes. I laughed helplessly over her version of New Moon last December, and her Harry Potter parodies--especially The Prisoner of Azkaban in 15 Minutes--are screamingly funny. If you've seen Eclipse already, I do recommend going to read Cleo's version immediately. For all your sparklepush and the wereshove needs. Happy Wednesday!

    Oh, I'm off to read it right now. I loved her New Moon in 15 minutes. I've never seen the movies (didn't really care for Twilight, the book), but these posts are entertaining!

    I actually have been looking forward to reading this for a while. Thank you for introducing me to the hilarity!

    I saw the movie. It was good...for what it was. But Jasper still really just bugs me. His hair has improved somewhat, but he always looks like he has a stick somewhere a stick shouldn't be. Edward was better this time, and the whole tent scene between him and Jacob was perfect. It's not often a movie adaptation gets something so close to my imagination, but that did it.

    Have you seen Eclipse with cats by popsuede? You can see it over here. So hilarious! Let me click on your link of Eclipse in 15 minutes. I have a feeling I'm going to like it as well.

    I did watch the movie with two friends. I watched Twilight and New Moon with both of them and it has become a tradition now. We will finish watching the movies all together. They didn't read the books so they kept asking me during the movie, "Did that really happen in the book?"

    I've only seen the first Twilight movie, I'm just so sceptical to the others because I thought it sucked :( I will watch them one day though and then I will watch this clip :D

    Brenda, they certainly are. I admire that amount of talent, I really do. A good parody is so hard to craft.

    Allie, Jasper's hair...*sigh* It appears to be unstoppable. And unflappable. And all sorts of other inappropriate hair uns. Agree on the tent scene. Also enjoyed the final Bella/Jacob kiss. ;)

    Chachic, lol. That's funny. It's true that the main enjoyment in watching these movies is the experience of watching it together with your friends. So you can laugh and talk and generally live it up.

    Jen, oh man. Cleo is awesome. Definitely check out her HP parodies.

    Ladybug, sounds like a plan. For what it's worth, the second two are quite different from the first. Not saying they're better. Just different. :)

Angie's Best Books of 2024

Looking back at it now, it was a really solid reading year. I mean, it did its usual (for me) thing and meandered its merry way, here and there, up and down, and in fits and starts across the span of all twelve months. But it really did shape up nicely. Which is a good thing, because it was—shockingly, I know—another year in which we so desperately needed the authors and books and words of the world to come through for us. And they did, didn't they?  I am, as ever, so grateful for them and their willingness to push through every barrier and battle that I know must try to keep them from putting their visions on paper. And so, as has long been my custom, I record here my list of published books that saw me through the year. Angie's Best Books of 2025

This year really came through reading-wise. Initially, I didn't know what to expect. And I think I was a little surprised to find myself feeling a strong pull right from the beginning of the year to published books. I tried quite a few new-to-me authors with more abandon than I have in recent years—something I'm proud of and hope to continue. Not all of them worked in just an Angie-like way, but regret never entered the room. I passed them on. To the Little Free Libraries in my neighborhood, to the used bookstore down the street that I love, to my own public library in donations. Someone will love them. It didn't have to be me. And I loved giving them that little push along their way to the homes of the people who would soak up their words and hold them tight.  What a gift books are. How much I need them and how grateful I am at the end of this year for the ones that came and continued on their way—but most especially for the ones that came to stay.  And so, as has long bee...
