The Fault in Our Stars Cover

And here we have the cover for John Green's upcoming book The Fault in Our Stars, due out January 10th. I like how simple it is (yay for simple these days). I like that there are no people on it. And I like the chalk writing. It's a little hard to fall utterly in love with, however, because of the countless unbelievably awesome fan-made covers sent in. Happily, they impressed his publisher so much they're holding a contest for fan-made covers for the next edition of An Abundance of Katherines. I cannot wait to see the results! For now, I'm off to go pre-order my signed copy of tFiOS.

    How interesting that there's a cover quote from Jodi Picoult. Is it me or is that an odd choice?

    I like the simplicity of the cover too! And I really should pre-order this soon because I want a first edition, signed copy. :)

    Christine, yeah, that caught my eye as well. Not a name you expect to see on a John Green cover at all, is it?

    Oh, I've been waiting for this cover unveil! I too like the simplicity. It's actually a little non-descript for my taste, but maybe it will make more sense after I've read it.

    I'm off to preorder... What a great book to look forward to in early January.

    Holly, that's a good word for it--nondescript. I agree, would have liked it to make a bit more of an impression.

Retro Friday Review: Song of the Sparrow by Lisa Ann Sandell

Retro Friday is a weekly meme hosted here at Angieville and focuses on reviewing books from the past. This can be an old favorite, an under-the-radar book you think deserves more attention, something woefully out-of-print, etc. Everyone is welcome to join in at any time! River Marked Cover Art

I've seen this pop up hither and yon for awhile and been waiting for the official word to go up over at Hurog.com . It just did and I'm excited to post the cover of the sixth Mercy Thompson novel-- River Marked . We knew this one was going to delve a little deeper into Mercy's past, particularly the walker heritage and abilities she inherited from her father. And my little Mercy-loving heart does its little dance of joy at the thought. The cover reflects the Native American ancestry, for sure, and I'm noticing lots of feathers in her tattoos as well. Interesting. Personally I like that cover artist Dan Dos Santos subtly changes her tattoos with each cover to match the tones and themes of the individual books themselves. So what do you think?
