I feel a bit giddy finally talking to you all about this series. If you'll remember, I fell madly in love with The Q when it came out a few years ago. Now, Beth Brower is writing The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion — a series of novellas set in London in 1883. Each volume is an excerpt from the incorrigible Emma's journals, and the first two volumes are already available with the third on the way soon. I think they'd make rather perfect pandemic reading. Humorous and charming down to their bones, they're just what the doctor ordered to lift your spirits in this uncertain time that just proves to be too much some days. If you're experiencing one of those days, I suggest giving Volume 1 a go (it's only 99 cents on Kindle, $4.99 for a trade paperback copy). It will surprise exactly none of you that I own print and digital editions of both volumes. Miss Emma M. Lion has waited long enough. Come hell or high water (and really, given her track record, both a
Adorable!! Love the SuperFinn costume! Don't you just love Halloween and the great kids' costumes? A friend's son had the cutest dinosaur costume on the other day. So cute.
ReplyDeleteI do love seeing them in costume after all the thought and work and preparation goes into it. So fun.
DeleteAw, so cute. Love the Batgirl stance. Don't mess with her because she's in charge, you see?
ReplyDeletePrecisely. She's all, When are we going to stop this nonsense and start fighting crime??
DeleteAdorable!!!! I am very partial to Batgirl there, but they are ALL darling. Glad to see you all had fun. Halloween was pretty much cancelled here in NJ. :(
ReplyDeleteLol. She was IN CHARACTER.
DeleteI'm so sorry. We've all been thinking of you guys and everyone back east.
Oh, some crazy cuteness here! Good costume-making skills as well :)
ReplyDeleteIt's exhausting. But very fun to see it all come together. :)
DeleteI am dieing over Piper's costume. SO COOL!!! And so perfect for her. Your kids are so beautiful. I love it when you post pics.
ReplyDeleteThere was never any question of what she was going to be this year. She's pretty sure Piper is just her alterego. ;)
DeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shane!
DeleteYour kids are so photogenic! I love the poses and the costumes.
ReplyDeleteThey were definitely into it. It was a fun night.
Deleteso cute!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy!
DeleteThat vampire makeup and batgirl's pose are awesome. :) Looks like it was a fun time.
ReplyDeleteHe was very specific on how he wanted his face to look. Lol.
DeleteEvery time a door opened, she smiled and said, "I'm Batgirl!"
These are awesome, Angie!! Can I just say that I LOVE that you have a little girl that wanted to go as a super hero and not a princess? Same for her cousins for that matter. Princesses are okay too, but it's nice to see something different. And that vampire makeup is totally creepy! Though the look of utter adoration he's getting from Alice is priceless.
ReplyDeleteHope you guys had fun!
Can I just say that I LOVE that she wanted to, too? That's my girl.
DeleteHis little Alice-cousin is very adoring, so that shot is pretty spot-on in general. Lol.
Everyone is adorable. Wish we could have seen them live!
ReplyDeleteWe wish we could have seen yours, too!
DeleteOh my gosh, you guys are so adorable! These look like professional photos. Great costume choices:)
ReplyDeleteLol. My husband's a photographer so I luck out in the photo department.
