I don't know why I do this to myself. November? Gah. But I'm pretty sure it's because all I wanted to do when the credits on The Hunger Games rolled was watch Catching Fire. Immediately. 
Oh. And also GALE!

    Catching Fire was my favorite of the books, so I am crazy-excited for this movie. And I'm so interested in the political stuff they're adding in to explain what's happening beyond Katniss' POV. Eeeeeee!

      Yeah, I was kind of waiting to see the other victors (ESPECIALLY Finnick), but I'm kind of glad they didn't show them so there's more to anticipate.

    that was beyond awesome! and we didn't even see the arena. looks a little more gritty and a little more funded. (who wouldn't throw more money to their cash cow?) i was excited for november, but now i can't wait. i had goosebumps.

Angie's Best Books of 2025

This year really came through reading-wise. Initially, I didn't know what to expect. And I think I was a little surprised to find myself feeling a strong pull right from the beginning of the year to published books. I tried quite a few new-to-me authors with more abandon than I have in recent years—something I'm proud of and hope to continue. Not all of them worked in just an Angie-like way, but regret never entered the room. I passed them on. To the Little Free Libraries in my neighborhood, to the used bookstore down the street that I love, to my own public library in donations. Someone will love them. It didn't have to be me. And I loved giving them that little push along their way to the homes of the people who would soak up their words and hold them tight.  What a gift books are. How much I need them and how grateful I am at the end of this year for the ones that came and continued on their way—but most especially for the ones that came to stay.  And so, as has long bee...

Linger by Maggie Stiefvater, Review + Giveaway!

It seems a long time ago now that I first read Shiver -- the first book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy. But looking back I started it on the plane ride to BEA and finished it there in the conference center, fingers gripping the cover tightly, while sitting on the floor in one of the many autograph lines.
