Bitterblue Giveaway Winner!

And the winner of the copy of Bitterblue and the Seven Kingdoms tote bag is . . . Elisa ! Congratulations! Elisa's answer to my question of which character in the series you'd want as a BFF was: There aren't a lot of girls I can easily be around for long periods of time, but I like to think Katsa would be the exception to that, so I'll say her. But I would never walk away from Po...  Amen to that. As a matter of fact, Katsa won as favorite BFF hands down, with Bitterblue and Po not far behind. Brigan and Giddon each got a vote apiece, which made me happy. Because I loves them both. As for me? It's such a tough call. Why did I ask such a hard question? In the end, I think I have to echo Elisa. Katsa for the best friend, and she can bring Po along any old time she wants. Thanks so much to   Penguin   for hosting the giveaway and to each one of you for taking the time to enter and share your love for this series and these characters.

Cinder Audiobook Giveaway Winner!

And the winner is . . . Sarah (Escaping Through Books) ! Congratulations! Sarah's favorite fairy tale has always been Sleeping Beauty. That was definitely a favorite of those who entered the giveaway, including a shout-out for Spindle's End --my favorite version of it. More favorites included Cinderella (appropriately), The Twelve Dancing Princesses, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid. And one mention of The Seven Swans--a personal favorite of mine. So if you could send me your contact info, Sarah, we'll be happy to get your package on its way. Thanks to Macmillan Audio for hosting the giveaway and to all of you for stopping in and sharing your favorites!

Forever Giveaway Winner!

And the winner is . . .  Maigan Silverstein Rarick ! Congrats! Maigan said that Sam is her favorite werewolf because of how deeply he feels for his humanity, and how much he struggles to hold onto it and remember it. I love the notion of the "monster" who clings to his humanity so strongly. Maggie gives Sam such a great layer of emotion, and that is why he's my favorite. Well said, Maigan! Please send me your contact info and we'll get your sketch and book out soon. Thanks to everyone  for entering and sharing your favorite fictional weres. I'm pretty sure Sam, Cole, and Lupin took the cake as far as everyone's favorite furry friend goes, although there was much love for Ren from Nightshade and a couple of shout-outs to personal favorites of mine--Adam from the Mercy Thompson series and Derek from the Kate Daniels books. Lastly, a big thanks to This is Teen for hosting the blog tour and giveaway!

Jane Eyre Giveaway Winners!

And the winners are . . . mainhoonemily and Tina! Congratulations, you two! Both of them listed the Masterpiece Theater 2006 version of Jane Eyre (starring Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens) as their favorite film adaptation thus far. And that did seem to be the overall consensus as I read through all your comments. Although there were plenty of Timothy Dalton fans and lovers of the George C. Scott/Susanna York version as well. As for me, my current favorite is the 1996 Zeffirelli film. I'm still waiting for this newest version to show somewhere remotely near me, but have any of you had a chance to get out and see it yet? I'm dying over here! Winners, please send me your mailing addresses and we'll get those prize packs out to you soon. Thanks everyone for entering and a big thanks to Focus Features for sponsoring the giveaway.

Thanks again to April for so kindly participating in the interview. And thank you to all of you who entered the giveaway. I really loved this one so much and can't wait for it to be published and see what you all think. I had to laugh at the sheer number of you who declared Elizabeth and Darcy your favorite literary couple. I adore them as well and they are unquestionably much beloved by such a wide swath of the population. Amazing. Other top couples include Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe, Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth, and Margaret Hale and Mr. Thornton.

Radiant Shadows Giveaway Winner!

And the winner is . . . Caitlin ! Congratulations! You know the drill. Shoot me a quick email with your mailing address and we'll get your copy of Radiant Shadows on its way. Thanks so much to Karen of Media Masters Publicity for providing the book for the giveaway and to all of you who entered and shared your favorite characters from the series and why you love them. In case you're interested, Niall was overwhelmingly the most beloved character and I fully support that call. As Michelle said, "I am in love with Niall. He is the Dark Lord and he owns it." Amen. Of course, Seth was no slouch in the fan department either. He's got his own set of loyal admirers. As Jen  (who also really loves Niall) says, "I have liked Seth from the start. You gotta love a regular mortal man who stands up to the immortal Fae for his woman." There are many things to love about Seth. But this is probably the best one. Niall and Seth were followed by Donia of whom Yan ha...

Brightly Woven Giveaway Winner!

And the winner is . . . Kath! Please contact me with your mailing address and we'll get your signed copy of Brightly Woven sent out to you right away. I have to say you all made me laugh with your favorite wizards (and witches!) and why you love them, and how long you have loved them, and how much you're looking forward to meeting North and Sydelle. The top favorites were overwhelmingly Harry Potter, Howl, Gandalf, and the Weasley twins. Other honorable mentions included Ged, Merlin, Dumbledore, and Harry Dresden. Fine choices all of them.  And to Lizzy, who questioned my lack of love for the revered Howl, what can I say? I still feel bad about it to this day. I just never connected with him. I definitely see the literary lineage between he and Eugenides. And, magical/wizardy elements aside, they are both adept at role-playing when it serves their purposes. But the difference (for me) is in the glimpses we see of the real Gen--so packed with visceral emotion. The kind that s...

Ballad Giveaway Winner

And the winner is... bookwormam ! Please contact me with your mailing address and I'll get your copy of Ballad on its way. I have to say I was delighted to read all of your favorite ballads and love songs. I was surprised, though I probably shouldn't have been, by how many chose "Unchained Melody." It was the most popular choice by far and it is a lovely song. There were several others suggested that are favorites of mine and I decided to put together a "best of" list, if you will, of your favorite ballads and/or love songs. Enjoy!
