Retro Friday is a weekly meme hosted here at Angieville and focuses on reviewing books from the past. This can be an old favorite, an under-the-radar book you think deserves more attention, something woefully out-of-print, etc. Everyone is welcome to join in at any time! So this is a book I've spent a lot of time talking about. Chances are, if you've hung around these parts, you've heard me push it. But I actually read it for the first time way back in the olden days before the blog was, well, what it is now. I read it shortly after it was first published, back in 2007, when I was writing monthly posts, mere collections of mini-reviews. So Song of the Sparrow got shortchanged. I decided to address that situation today. The fun thing is lots of friends have read (and reviewed) it since, and so I was able to trip through their lovely thoughts and remember my own. When I heard about a retelling of Tennyson's " Lady of Shalott ," I was so in. I mean, I'...
I have the same pic on my blog in my Twilight review...swweeeett!
ReplyDeleteIt's how I've always imagined Edward...sweet Edward...*sigh*
Dottie :)
Yeah, where did that Edward go?
ReplyDeleteI'm in 100 percent agreement. Fan art can be so cool...
ReplyDeleteI thought that was the official release pic?
ReplyDeleteI posted it on my blog as soon as I saw it:) Oh Edward....
I agree, I miss that Edward as well. I am curious to see how the movie of Breaking Dawn turns out though, the book was awful so I wonder if the movie will be as well?
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm...Edward. Pre-Breaking Dawn Edward, no less :)
ReplyDeleteLol. You guys are making me feel better. ;)
ReplyDeleteDottie, what can I say? It's just that kind of picture.
Jennie, I don't know. *sigh*
Camie, I love it. Seriously way better than the official Summit posters for TWILIGHT were.
Mandi, it looks very professional. Apparently it's fan made though.
Kath, I'm having trouble even imagining what that movie will be like. I just...haven't a clue how it could be good.
Allie, yup. Pretty swoon-worthy.
New Moon will always be my favorite. I hope Robert and Kristin do a good job transfering it to the big screen because I felt this was the one that held a lot of emotion.
ReplyDeleteHe just makes me giggle every time I see him.
ReplyDeletePrincess Allie, I loved NEW MOON as well. Haters to the left.
ReplyDeleteMartha, hehe. Well, you know him better than the rest of us what with all the unauthorized biographing...
That is one really hot picture!
ReplyDeleteSmokin'. In a cold, marbley way.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think I'm the only one on the planet who doesn't find cold, marbley, bloodsucking Edward even remotely attractive.
ReplyDeleteAnon, don't feel alone! I definitely am put off by the cold surface with no give, etc descriptions. I probably mentally gloss over those in the text because I do like the guy. Or at least I like pre-BD Edward.
