The Demon's Surrender U.S. Cover

Hurray for Alan covers! Sarah Rees Brennan just revealed the cover for the third and final book in her Demon's Lexicon Trilogy--The Demon's Surrender. And I say it's about time Alan got his own cover. Even if he is holding a bow (which is still awesome) and not his gun (which is Alan). But then I am an Alan Brigand if ever there was one, so I would say that, wouldn't I? This is the U.S. hardback cover and I'm anxious to see what the UK one will look like, as I've loved those covers immensely. What do you think? Who's your favorite character from the trilogy and what have you got your fingers crossed for in this conclusion to the series? You can read the first chapter over here

  1. I love this cover, but i have a soft spot for my UK ones. I am hoping my love for this boy does not get dashed in this book and he is rewarded with the girl he most deserves, any by girl, i obvs mean Sin.

  2. I dunno...the dude on the cover isn't quite my beautiful bookish boy...

  3. It really is weird that he's holding a bow instead of a gun but maybe that's part of the story? Can't wait to see the UK cover because I like those editions better (even though my copies are US editions).

  4. I don't think he looks like I picture him. But still a cool cover. And I'm totally excited about this book!

  5. Total love. Not quite what I was expecting, but very definitely my favourite of the US covers. This is sort of Alan Revealed, isn't it?

I like the London backdrop - am getting a secret kick out of the Gherkin as that's close to where I work and one of my favourite buildings - it's the sort of umm gherkin-shaped silhouette, funnily enough ;-)

I also can't wait for the UK cover to be unveiled.

  9. In my minds eye Alan's glasses are a bit more nerdly. But I love the cover. As for my favorite character, sorry but it is Nick. He is just too much ;).

  11. Not quite how I pictured him but yay indeed for Alan covers. I can't wait to see the UK version either.

As to what I'm hoping for - Alan and Sin, Alan and Sin, Alan and Sin! Too much tension with those two!

  15. Very cool! Alan's not quite how I pictured him, but the cover still works for me.

I love Alan, and his relationship with Nick just gets to me! But, when all is said and done, Nick's my favorite guy, and Jamie comes in #2.

I've been a bit scarce round these parts of late and I feel badly about it. But there is a good reason and I've been waiting until today to share it with you. Just so I could include one rather pertinent detail. It's a boy! Fortunately I'm at the point where I'm starting to feel better, so things should soon start resembling business as usual around here. I, for one, am relieved.

Forever Blog Tour + Giveaway!

I'm awfully excited to be a part of this unique blog tour in celebration of the release of Forever by the insanely talented Maggie Stiefvater .  Scholastic recently launched an online community called  This Is Teen  to connect readers with their favorite YA authors and books. Visit their page on   Facebook   for all the latest news on   Maggie Stiefvater   and   Forever .  Each stop on the tour is hosting a particular character from the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, and I have the good luck to be the stop for Sam--my favorite emo-wolfboy!  Sam is so very endearing, in a decidedly non-angsty or overt way. His breathtaking blend of maturity and vulnerability tugs at my heartstrings and the strength of his relationship with Grace is unswerving.  He is warm and thoughtful and artistic, and I liked him right from the start of the series . Because I can't resist, here are two of my favorite Sam quotes, the first from Grace's point of view in  Shiver and the second from Sam&

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund

I know this is an almost unpardonably early review. But honestly, I waited on it as long as I possibly could before the effort of holding it in caused me some sort of bodily harm. I've been anxiously looking forward to For Darkness Shows the Stars  for going on two years now, and the day an ARC showed up on my doorstep was just a very good day indeed . When a book you've been dying to read finally falls into your lap, do you ever just hold onto it and savor the possibilities? I do. I did with this one for a little while. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I just tear into it immediately. But sometimes I don't. Because sometimes dreaming about it while you're actually holding it in your hands is special, too. So I savored and I dreamt and I started reading and . . . I was gone. My first reaction to finishing it was a sense of complete satisfaction mingled with sadness that it was over. My second was thinking that I cannot wait to see  For Darkness Shows the Stars  work
