Magic Bites Collector's Edition

It must be mine.

Kate's braid makes me happy. It's so Kate. As does Slayer. And the fact that she just looks so much more like Kate in general than the girl on the original cover of Magic Bites. That little "Includes First Time in Print Bonus Material" teaser doesn't hurt either. Not one bit.

  4. I like this cover aside from the fact the model looks a little too young to me.

    1. She does look young. But then the original one looked way old to me. And, uh, WELL-ENDOWED.

Nice. I'll have to preorder this one since I'm curious about the bonus material (!).

Happy belated birthday. We moved yesterday and things are crazy. I tried to comment twice using my laptop without luck. I also loved the pictures of your children.

    1. I know! I'm hoping for Curran POVs and maybe some stuff we haven't read.

Thanks so much, Karen. I can't believe you're moved! I know how crazy that can be. Hope unpacking and settling in goes smoothly for you.

  9. I wonder what that first time in print thing will be. I think they blogged about it, but I just forgot. I already own all of the books, but I doubt I'll be able to resist getting a copy of this, simply because I'm a Kate and Curran addict.

    1. Yeah, I'm thinking possibly some Curran POV stuff, but I can't remember for sure.

Love finding fellow addicts, btw. I am an unrepentant one. :)

On Angie, the Relative Scarcity Thereof

I've been a bit scarce round these parts of late and I feel badly about it. But there is a good reason and I've been waiting until today to share it with you. Just so I could include one rather pertinent detail. It's a boy! Fortunately I'm at the point where I'm starting to feel better, so things should soon start resembling business as usual around here. I, for one, am relieved.

Forever Blog Tour + Giveaway!

I'm awfully excited to be a part of this unique blog tour in celebration of the release of Forever by the insanely talented Maggie Stiefvater .  Scholastic recently launched an online community called  This Is Teen  to connect readers with their favorite YA authors and books. Visit their page on   Facebook   for all the latest news on   Maggie Stiefvater   and   Forever .  Each stop on the tour is hosting a particular character from the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, and I have the good luck to be the stop for Sam--my favorite emo-wolfboy!  Sam is so very endearing, in a decidedly non-angsty or overt way. His breathtaking blend of maturity and vulnerability tugs at my heartstrings and the strength of his relationship with Grace is unswerving.  He is warm and thoughtful and artistic, and I liked him right from the start of the series . Because I can't resist, here are two of my favorite Sam quotes, the first from Grace's point of view in  Shiver and the second from Sam&
