Sweet Summertime Reads, or Angie's Moody Summer Reads

Hi all! I hope your summers are going well. I just wanted to let you know you can find me over at GReads! today. I'm taking part in Ginger's annual Sweet Summertime Reads feature with a few of my Moody Summer Reads recs — I know, I know, sounds like me, right? If you're so inclined, be sure to stop in and let me know what you think and if you have any recs for me! I'd love some.

Amour et Florand

Today, I'm over @ Chachic's Book Nook (one of my favorite haunts) with a guest post for her inspired Amour et Florand week. The week celebrates the works of Laura Florand , and I've contributed a few words on why I love her Amour et Chocolat series . If you've got a moment to spare, stop in and let me convince you to read these books sooner rather than later!

Over @ Dear Author: Harvard Hottie by Annabelle Costa

I still shake my head over this title and its original Awkward Family Photos cover. The one pictured below is, believe it or not, a vast improvement. That said, I've read it twice in the last few months and I continue to have a soft spot for it. Stop by and read my review of Annabelle Costa's Harvard Hottie over @ Dear Author today.

Over @ Dear Author: Cress by Marissa Meyer

Today, you can read my review of Cress by Marissa Meyer over @ Dear Author . This is the third in Meyer's fun scifi fairy tale series, the Lunar Chronicles, and I fully expected to love it. Stop by and see if my expectations were met and let me know what you thought if you've read this book or the others in the series!

Over @ Dear Author: Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen

Got a review up over @ Dear Author today, guys. This time it's Lost Lake —the latest from the lovely Sarah Addison Allen . I adore her brand of magical realism, though this one left me with decidedly mixed feelings. Have you read it yet? Stop by and let me know what you think.

Over @ Dear Author: Live by Mary Ann Rivers

Today I'm over @ Dear Author with my review of the first in Mary Ann Rivers ' new Burnside Series. You know my feelings on Ms. Rivers' novellas, so it was with much anticipation that I dove into her first full-length novel. After the fact, I have two words for you: Welsh Woodcarver. That is all.

Over @ Dear Author: Written in Red by Anne Bishop

Today I'm over @ Dear Author with my review of the first book in a new urban fantasy series I've been circling for awhile. Written in Red is the first in Anne Bishop 's Others series. A string of solid reviews induced me to give it a shot, and I'm really glad I did.

Over @ Dear Author: Kindling the Moon by Jenn Bennett

New series alert! To me, at least. I'm over @ Dear Author today with my review of the first book in Jenn Bennett 's Arcadia Bell urban fantasy series - Kindling the Moon .  Sarah , this one goes out to you. Rest assured, I will be back for more.

Over @ Dear Author: Night Blade by J.C. Daniels

I swear this won't become a daily thing! But I just couldn't shut up about J.C. Daniels ' Colbana Files, and so today my review of book two is up over at Dear Author . Things get real, guys. I was not okay after finishing it.

Over @ Dear Author: Blade Song by J.C. Daniels

Today, I'm embarking on little bit of a new venture. I'll be reviewing a couple (or three or four, my mileage will I am sure vary) books a month over at Dear Author . These will be urban fantasy and parnormals, and I am so thrilled to be leading off with the first book in an urban fantasy series that took over my life the minute I started it. Make sure to drop by today to see what I thought of J.C. Daniels' Blade Song .

Old School Middle Grade Roundtable

I'm a bit behind due to jet lag and other post-vacation woes, but I definitely wanted to mention the Old School Middle Grade Roundtable I participated in last week over @ the Book Smugglers . Ana and Thea took one of their weekly Old School Wednesdays (happily inspired by our very own Retro Fridays ) and made it a special edition post, inviting five bloggers to sit down and discuss their top five old school middle grade books. I was there, along with Heidi @ Bunbury in the Stacks , Charlotte @ Charlotte's Library , Liz @ A Chair, a Fireplace and a Tea Cozy , and Ana @ Things Mean a Lot . So basically the stellarest of stellar company. As Liz points out, no titles overlap! Which was completely unplanned and which makes the whole thing sort of that much more awesome. I went with two historicals, two contemporaries, and one high fantasy. Stop in and see which ones I chose and check out the whole fabulous list .

Heroine Week

Today you can find me over at Romance Around the Corner talking about my favorite fantasy heroines . I was thrilled to participate in Heroine Week , Brie's week-long celebration of female characters from all genres and walks of life. There have been some pretty spectacular and thoughtful posts along the way and I've found several new authors and books to search out. Drop in and see what you think, will you?

Women in SF&F Month 2.0

Today, I'm hanging out over at Fantasy Cafe for the second annual Women in SF&F Month. Kristen has put together another stellar lineup of authors and bloggers in this month dedicated to the women throughout history and today who have contributed so much to my two all-time favorite genres. This year, I was inspired to write about one of the very first female SF&F authors I ever read. Her impact in my life has been enormous. Stop by and say hi . And while you're there, be sure to weigh in on the Favorite SF&F Books by Women Project with your top ten favorites!

Retell Me a Story

Because I never run out of things to say when it comes to retellings, I accepted Melissa's gracious offer to contribute a guest post for her wonderful Retell Me a Story Week over @ One Librarian's Book Reviews . This time I'm talking purely classics. So if you're looking for a good retelling of anything from Hamlet to Holmes, take a minute to stop by and check it out. I'll be there !

Smugglivus 2012!

Psst. You guys. It's December 1st! I'll meet you over by the usual palm tree , aka Book Smugglers Central, where I will be holding court with my annual awards for the best of 2012. From Meet-Cutes and Mid-Series Game Changers to Declarations and Comfort Reads, we'll be hashing it out. Stop by and weigh in. I'll see you there!

In Which I Get Personal @ The Readventurer

Well, they asked me to! To be precise, the lovely trio over at The Readventurer invited me to contribute a guest post for one of their excellent features and I chose If You Like This, You Might Like That . It's my own fault what happened from there on out. So if you'd like a peek into the randomness that is my bookpushing brain, hop on over and give it a look-see.

Seven Days for Sevenwaters

Today you can find me over at Book Harbinger guest blogging for Holly's Seven Days for Sevenwaters . This week-long event highlights Juliet Marillier 's Sevenwaters series, a set of books I've been attached to for quite some time now. I hope you find the time to stop in and share your thoughts as I ruminate a bit on  Daughter of the Forest , the first time I gifted it to someone, and why I return again and again to this special series.

Friday Evening Stops

It's still just the first week in January and already all kinds of things are going on around the blogosphere. It's these kinds of things that remind me it's okay that the holidays are over and good things will certainly come this year. Starting with these three: First off, I wanted to be sure to point out that today is the last day to download Magic Gifts --the free Kate Daniels novella that Ilona Andrews gave as a Christmas gift to the fans. Best idea in the world, if you ask me. I've read it and loved it and you will, too. So scoot on over and download it before it's gone! Next up, I would be remiss if I didn't direct you to the screamingest Kindle book deal around. Linda Gillard 's fabulous Emotional Geology is now available on Kindle for a mere 99 cents! This is my favorite of all of Linda's wonderful books. Previously out of print, you do not want to miss this one. My review here . Lastly, I'm going to be taking part in an...

Christmas Couples Countdown

Today you can find me over at Not Enough Bookshelves guest posting on my favorite couple from 2011. I know! How did I narrow it down? It was agonizing. But I think I landed on the two that really set my pulse permanently racing this year. If you've got a minute, be sure to drop in and see who it was . This is the third year running Alexa has hosted her Christmas Couples Countdown and it's always a blast, especially as we usually have several favorite duos in common. Happy holiday reading, everyone!

Smugglerific

Today you can find me over at The Book Smugglers kicking off their annual Smugglivus celebrations! The usual awards will be given out. Think you can guess who I picked for Best Declaration? Villain? Ridiculously Charming Hero? Be sure to stop on by to see who and say hi!
